Is AEI only for Indigenous students? NO
AEI is open to all learners. As an Indigenous-led institution, AEI centers around Indigenous knowledge and ways of learning with cultural learning being a big part of the Anishinabek Educational Institute experience and it is respectful and inclusive. Everyone is welcome.
What does AEI offer that makes them different?
- A blend of Indigenous knowledge and Western education
- Small class sizes with strong academic and cultural support
- Strong connections to culture, land, and community
- Our graduation rate is 85%. Ontario’s average is 65%
Where are your campuses located?
- Nipissing First Nation (North Bay area)
- Munsee-Delaware First Nation (London area)
Can I apply for OSAP or Ontario Stay and Learn? YES
AEI students are eligible for the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), or Ontario Stay and Learn (OSAL), just like students at other post-econdary schools.
You may also qualify for:
- Band funding (for First Nations students)
- Scholarships and bursaries (check our website for a place to start)
- Other provincial or federal supports
Are AEI programs recognized? YES
AEI partners with established colleges to deliver accredited programs, so you earn recognized certificates and diplomas granted through AEI’s partner institutions, ensuring it is widely recognized by employers and other schools. Ask about transfer credits if you have obtained credits already.
