Meet two members of the Class of 2025 who are already making an impact in their respective fields.

Lindsey Lebeau: Building a Nursing Career Through Experience and Dedication

Lindsey Lebeau graduated from AEI’s Practical Nursing program at our Nipissing Campus in 2025 and quickly turned her education into a rewarding nursing career.

After completing her studies in April, Lindsey obtained her temporary nursing license and began working as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) at West Nipissing General Hospital (WNGH). In her role on the Critical Continuing Care and Nursing Care Unit, she has been providing direct patient care while applying the clinical knowledge and skills she developed during her time at AEI.

Her responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, administering medications, performing wound care, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient well-being.

Committed to continuous growth, Lindsey spent the summer gaining valuable hands-on experience while strengthening her clinical judgment, communication, and time-management skills. In August, she transitioned to a casual position at WNGH to balance her professional responsibilities with her next academic goal.

Today, Lindsey is completing her fourth semester in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) bridging program at Canadore College while continuing to work at WNGH.

Reflecting on her journey, Lindsey credits AEI’s Practical Nursing program with providing the skills, confidence, and support she needed to enter the workforce and continue working toward her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse.

Jessica Jimenez: Finding Purpose Through Culture, Knowledge, and Community

Jessica Jimenez graduated from AEI’s Social Service Worker: Indigenous Knowledge program at our Munsee-Delaware Campus in 2025 and is already giving back to future students while building a successful career in the field.

Jessica currently works at the Can-Am Friendship Centre in Windsor, Ontario. This year, she also served as a mentor to a fourth-semester Social Service Worker: Indigenous Knowledge student, helping support the next generation of Indigenous helping professionals.

Looking back on her experience at AEI, Jessica says her education had a profound impact on both her professional and personal development.

“I have experienced positive changes while attending Anishinabek Educational Institute. I have developed so many skills in communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving. I understand the importance of working in teams and building solid relationships with others. These skills have helped me be successful in my career.

I know who I am; I understand my culture, heritage, and religion. This knowledge has also given me a stronger sense of pride and identity.
